Just classic beefs between the JBics and Werrrasonics. They always love making fun of each other. Classic Entertainment.
Well I would say this. Werrason is the better musician but JB Mpiana is the better singer. Werrason is very popular because he changes when he needs to while JB shows off and never realizes how wrong his sound can be. JB is far too stubborn and Werrason keeps rolling and rolling. However JB has better charisma and has more of a Wenge sound than Werrason.
vocal trianing is part of the package, all these guys will have to earn and maintain their spots under the watchful eye of Igwe and fans (or as you would rather call them "Kulunas")
That's bullshit, what can Werra teach these chaps, they sing far much better than him.
Wrong,am one of the biggest fans of Wenge Maison Mere,i consider Werrason to be a very bad singer and i don't like his way of running things but as a person i like him because he's a fighter who knows his limits so gets results by pushing his staff to the limit,he's a hardworker who deserves a pat on the back and maximum respect.
No,Maison Mere can function well with or without Werrason just like BCBG can function without JB Mpiana....To make it very clear to you, what i mean is that i like most of Werrason's musicians not him Werrason as a singer,he's a fake singer,it's more interesting at concerts before Werrason comes on stage.
As an entertaining artist,Werrason's band is good to watch especially when he's not on stage himself because he's the odd one out in his band,he can't sing properly,he can't dance properly neither can he play an instrument properly,he should let his boys do all the work, maybe he can play the shaker or just help with animation.

Those who can't do it teach it and thats the whole point behind this thread...the reason why you tune in to watch the best taught. Werrason's low points haven't stopped him from being top dawg and only a big fan like you can give a good breakdown of the phenom

I wonder what would happen if Werra went solo and only used a different pick up band for his concerts where and when he needed it, would he still attract a huge crowd?
The Werraless band (Maison Mere) would soon ceased to exist I think or splinter into several different bands.

He's already a solo artist,at least ever since Masela and Adolphe left. The guys would still manage to produce good music if they have financial backing,it's finances which hinder most congolese musicians from progressing, just look at what Bill Clinton,Ferre and JDT managed to release as Les Marquis with the help of Mr Simon or even Fally Ipupa with the help of David Monsoh,Kiki Toure and the others.

...only a few leaders/Musicians can put together and maintain such a talent pool; Otherwise we would still be enjoying new music from TPOK or even Le marquis. Even 4x4 ceased to be and was never the same without Igwe.

Which 4X4 now? Wenge Musica BCBG 4X4 died the day JB Mpiana took almost the entire band and left Werrason with nothing,JB Mpiana created BCBG and went on to shine at home and abroad whilst Werra and company where struggling to build another band,JB took almost everyone including all those people you say Werra recruited into Wenge Musica so you can see who the musicians respected more so what are you saying 4X4 was never the same.

Sly & Kaisari, @Sly,JB does not "produce" artists coz that aint his forte, hence the negligeable number of artists who established themselves post BCBG!JB shines as lead vocalist, one has better odds of getting blood out of a stone than seeing Chai Ngenge & co establish themselves as solo artists! The core of BCBG has remained intact for ~10 yrs coz JB needs them only as back up
@Kaisari,Werra is a good music producer who would struggle to sing to save his life but if you doubt that then take any WMM or WM 4*4 album, add all the time Werra sings and you'll find his voice is less than 10% of the album -that's including mabanga!! Yes he has a hand in grooming artists but all his recruits are already talented! If I, Safari who sings like a frog knocked on his door then Werra wouldn't look at me twice...so your claim that he "tutors" artists is an embellishment of the highest proportion!
Anyway, you too should be locked up in a cage and whoever emerges victoious shall live to tell the legend of JB & Werra!!

...Safari i will switch to your forte, we all know you can't teach talent but a good trainer can guide and train to yield the best; that is the basis of this cage-match the reason why young and upcoming look-up to Werra and will always line-up to audition @Zamba...
..now look at how Igwe builds these young talents confidence by letting them roll with the big boys on big stages rather than have them collect dust backstage...
[quote author=ssc board=1 thread=5508 post=45012 time=1335035677] I wouldn't call this struggling..
Real fans of Werra know that Werra ,Adolphe & Masela didn't find it easy building their band, they had no money,JB left with almost everyone and everything and he was doing bigger shows at home and abroad with his new band just like Papa Wemba advised him whilst Werra and company were still playing low level shows in Kin,it took time to put things together before all these shows you're seeing as ''Premiere concert du Wenge Musica Maison Mere'' could even take place.
